Our homes and apartments are replenished with more and more appliances that greatly simplify and automate life. For example, now buy not only washing machines but also clothes dryers. However, not every apartment allows you to comfortably arrange all the equipment. Therefore, the dryer is often installed above the washing machine. Installation of the dryer on the washing machine should be made taking into account the requirements of safety, operation, and convenience.

Mounting methods

Dryers for things can be classified into 3 main types:

– drafting;

– condensing;

– with a heat pump.

For different types of dryers, there are different ways of attachment. For example, exhaust units need to be connected to the ventilation hood. Such a unit dries things by diverting moist air into the ventilation system.

Condensing units function on the basis of this principle: warm air moves through a compartment with laundry, from which the moisture is removed into the heat exchanger. For the collection of moisture, the design provides a special container. After the clothes dry, it is necessary to drain the accumulated water.

Dryers with a heat pump function similarly to condensing units. However, in this case, not a heat exchanger is used, but a vaporizer, which receives the moisture.

There are models that need to be connected to the sewer system. In this case, the water will automatically go into the sewage system. Such equipment is more automated, but more difficult to install and connect.

Placement of the dryer

You can install the dryer in different ways. First of all, you need to proceed from the characteristics of a particular model, the amount of electrical equipment, and the layout of the house. Most often the dryer is installed in one of these ways:

– On or above the washing machine;

– next to the washing machine;

– in a separate place (a niche, a cabinet, a corner, etc.);

– under the worktop.

In most cases, the dryer is located on the washing machine. Naturally, this option is only relevant for washing machines with a horizontal load. If things in the washing machine are loaded vertically, it is not recommended to install a drying unit over it, as this option will be inconvenient to use.

The key advantage of the location of the washing machine is to save space. Most units are equipped with special mounts for installation over the washing machine.

Important! It is forbidden to install the dryer on the washing machine without special fasteners.

It is necessary to use suitable fasteners, you can not just put the machine on top. If you simply put the dryer on top of the washing machine, both units may malfunction, because they are not designed for external vibration. What’s more, the vibration during the washing process can simply cause the dryer to fall and break.

There are 2 options for attaching the drying unit:

  1. With fixing elements from the delivery set.
  2. On a specially mounted shelf. You can use improvised materials to mount the latter.

Naturally, the easiest way is to install the equipment side by side. However, in most modern apartments it is impossible to do this due to limited space. This option is suitable only for the most spacious bathrooms.

Installation above the washing machine

In the process of installing the dryer over the washing machine, you need to take into account the following points:

  1. First of all, it is important to correctly position the washing machine, over which the dryer unit will be installed.
  2. On the washing machine is installed a special stand for the location of the dryer.
  3. it is desirable to lay a pad of rubber between the units. This will minimize vibration and, accordingly, reduce the degree of negative impact of one unit on the other.
  4. After installing the pad, the dryer stand should be mounted.
  5. The dryer should be positioned on the securely fastened stand.
  6. All grooves, fasteners, etc. must be taped, painted, caulked, or otherwise handled according to the parts used for installation.

Only after a good, secure, and correct installation can you begin to operate the equipment. As long as the units are not secured, they should not be turned on.

It is much easier to install the dryer near the washer, in a niche or corner. In this case, there is usually no need to use additional fasteners. However, in each case, there are peculiarities of installation. Among other things, you need to take into account the peculiarities of the layout and finish of the room.
