Working Hours : Everyday (6am - 11pm)

If your washing machine, which has been a reliable assistant for a long time, suddenly stops working – don’t despair! We’ll tell you what could be the cause, and what you can do before you call for repairs.

Don’t panic.

Often the problem is solved by resetting the washing machine. But there are other cases that require specialist help or a thorough inspection at home.

Before calling a repairer, check the possible causes of the switch-off yourself:

  1. a faulty socket;
  2. a safety relay may have tripped if the washing machine is connected via an extension lead;
  3. the power or mains voltage is disconnected;
  4. the door is not properly closed; try opening and closing the door;

If the circuit board has malfunctioned or a control module has frozen, try switching the washer-dryer off for 15 minutes.

There are quite a few reasons why the washer-dryer shuts down; in standard cases, an error code will appear on the electronic display. If this is the case, refer to the user manual for details on what to do if an error occurs.

You should also make sure that the laundry is loaded correctly. It could be that there are too many items in the washer-dryer, they are not correctly positioned in the drum or the washing mode is incorrect. You can read about all these nuances in the manual.

And this is for a professional…

You should contact a washing machine repairer in the following situations.

Modular control failure. Switching off by itself, without program completion, at any stage of the washing program.

Heater or heating element breakage. After starting the washing machine and switching off abruptly after fifteen minutes, a short circuit occurs, which may dislodge the plugs.

The hatch does not lock. The door is closed but the lock does not operate. Washing either does not start or stops at any stage.

The power button does not work. If the start button jams, the contacts are probably loose. It can also happen a few minutes after the appliance has been started. If it does, the button is jammed and pushed in, it is loose or you have to make an effort to switch the washer-dryer on.

The washer-dryer motor does not run. There may be a short in the winding. The water is filled but the drum does not rotate. The washer-dryer is switched off.

The power supply is not working. Plug or cord, loose contacts due to damage. Burning smell, spontaneous shut-off.

The drain is soiled. Stops during the spin cycle. System malfunctions and used water has nowhere to go. Mechanical faults are possible here: The drain pump is damaged, and the impeller blades are out of order. All of these can be detected visually, but it is not worth trying to replace without a specialist.

The mains filter is not working. If the mains filter (fuse) fails, the machine switches off or does not work correctly. The control panel is not illuminated. The washer-dryer may switch on and off intermittently during operation.

There may be a bad smell of melted plastic, the main filter may be hot.

Loss of signal. In this case, the washer-dryer does not switch on at all or switch off spontaneously. Signal interruption can occur anywhere between the socket outlet and the washer-dryer inlet. The cause is usually vibration or mechanical damage.

Water in the drip tray. When the washer-dryer has been in use for a long time, some parts wear out, crack and water starts to leak. In this case, the safety switch is triggered. Washing machines are fitted with special sensors which report a malfunction and the appliance stops working. Most often in this situation, you will need to replace the hoses and connections.

Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself!

Incorrect use of the washer-dryer may cause a malfunction.

Minor faults can be repaired with your own hands and strength and no special skills are required. But in complicated cases, you should not try to make repairs on your own.

Calling an expert with Chula Vista Appliance Repair Company will prevent misdiagnosis and incorrect repairs. Usually, a washing machine repair technician will diagnose the problem free of charge and offer a guarantee against future breakdowns.
